About Demons

Demons have names, personalities and specialized activities.

Characteristics of Demons

Demonic wisdom: jealousy, envy, rivalry, selfish ambition, confusion, unrest, rebellion. (James 4:15)

Mark 5--Story of a demon possessed man:

When Jesus was still far out on the water, the mind had seen him and had run to meet him and fell down before him Then Jesus spoke to the demon within the man and said, "Come out, you evil spirit."

Demons speak through the voice of their host.

It gave a terrible scream shrieking, What are you going to do to me, Jesus Son of Most High God? For God's sake, don't torture me!"

Demons recognized Jesus and know he has authority and power over them.

What is your name? Jesus asked and the demon replied, "legion, for there are many of us her within this man."

Demons have names and more than one demon can live in a person.

Then the demons begged him again and again not be send them to some distant land.

Demons attempt to persuade to get their own desire (they begged). Demon's think and plan (Their alternate plan was to enter the pigs.

Now as it happened there was a huge herd of hogs rooting around on the hill above the lake. "Send us into those hogs," the demon begged.

Demons can live in animals. They seem to prefer to have a "host"

And Jesus gave them permission. then the evil spirits came out of the man and entered the hogs, and the entire herd plunged down the steep hillside into the lake and drowned.

Demon can enter any living creature with ease. They needed the permission of Jesus to enter the pigs.

Mathew 12:43-45

Matt 12:43-45 For if the demon leaves it goes into the deserts for a while, seeking rest but finding none. then it says, "I will return to the man I came from. So it returns and finds the man's heart clean but empty. Then the demon finds seven other spirits more evil than itself, and all enter the man and live in him. And so he is worse off than before."

Demons can return once they leave and bring more demons if the person does not have a spiritual protection. Demons communicate with each other. They travel easily in the air. They look for a host to inhabit.
