What Is the Source of Premonitions?

Four Subjective Answers

Many people receive premonitions and dreams . Why this happens and for what purpose is a subjective matter of interpretation. (As a Christian, I do not agree with New Age and Occult answers for dreams and premonitions. The God of Christianity will stand as truth when measured against other gods. I do not hide or attempt to bend the other spiritual beliefs in an effort to make my God stronger. My God is strong and able to stand as spiritual truth by His nature and power.)

A few subjective answers are below:

Some people have a easy connection to the spiritual realm. They automatically travel on a spiritual level when asleep and receive premonitions from the future. If the premonition happens and a loved-one dies, you are spiritually able to connect with them for a short time after death. This is something that is just inside of you like having a talent for singing or dancing. You were born with this sensitivity. This answer is usually used by New Age and Occult believers.

A second interpretation is that all of us are born with spiritual receiving devises (for lack of a better term). The sensor was designed to communicate with God through the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ. If we do not know how to do this or we reject Jesus Christ as God, we still have that sensor looking for something spiritual. We still receive spiritual messages. In the case of a psychic, they have choose to listen to the spirits and not to Jesus. In the case of an automatic spiritual dream or premonition, you might still receive such things as a Christian to warn you to be prepared for the death of a loved one. Your spiritual sensor still works--because it is a part of you. (Christian Interpretation)

The third interpretation is that "familiar spirits" are demons that gather around families from one generation to another. Familiar spirits are a particular type of demon. The dead go to a spiritual heaven or hell. The familiar spirits then impersonates the deceased loved ones. The demons know the personality and nature of our loved ones. They give us dreams, premonitions, spiritual experiences to make us curious in an attempt to persuade us to channel them into direct communication with us. A familiar spirit's goal is to live in a human body as they are detached spirits living in the air around us. (Christian Interpretation)

Christians who have the Gift of Prophesy can receive dreams and visions from God. The Gift of Prophesy is given by the Holy Spirit and be judge by other Christians for validly. These dreams and visions must always be in agreement with the Bible.
