Deliverance Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, we acknowledge Your presence in this room and in our lives. You are everywhere, You are all-powerful and You know all things. We need You, and we know that we can do nothing without You. We believe the Bible because it tells us what is really true. We refuse to believe the lies of Satan. We ask you to rebuke Satan and place a hedge of protection around this room so we can do Your will. As children of God we take authority over Satan and command Satan to release (name of person) in order that (name) can know and choose to do the will of God. In the name of Jesus, we command Satan and all His forces to be bound and silenced within (name) so they cannot inflict any pain or in any way prevent God's will from being accomplished in (name) life. We ask the Holy Spirit to fill us and direct us into all truth. In Jesus's name we pray. Amen *

*There is substantial debate on exorcism in both Catholic and Protestant churches. This is a prayer for a strong Christian to recite and the Christian must believe every word of the prayer. The person who may be demon influenced needs supervision. If the demon influence is too strong, the afflicted person may not be able to discern when the demon is affecting his or her mind or body. The person who is praying the prayer (for lack of a better name-exorcist) must be able to tell when to repeat the prayer when needed. The exorcist must be able to help the person renounce any dealing with the Occult and sin in the afflicted person's life.
There are stories of people who are immediately set free from demons after a prayer such as the one above. For others, it will take time and patience to get the person free. Another important aspect is to teach the afflicted person how to stay protected by establishing a strong relationship with Jesus Christ.
