What is Prophesy?
Prophecy is a gift of the Holy Spirit for believers who follow the Lord Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit gives gifts only as he wills. Christians can not chose what gifts are given to them. Prophecy edifies, comforts, and exhorts the followers of Jesus Christ. Prophecy can be used to lead unbelievers to repentance.
Four Tests of Prophesy:
Special Note of Warning: No one can prophesy unless the person calls Jesus Christ their Savior and Lord. Christians cannot prophesy unless that person is given the gift of prophesy by the Holy Spirit. All prophesy is to be judged by fellow Christians as to the prophecy's agreement to the Word of God. Channeling is NOT prophesying. The words contained herein are personal prophesy used for the sole purpose of bringing others to Jesus Christ. Some messages are words of concern for others who have not repented and accepted Jesus Christ as Savior. Other messages are given to encourage and comfort Christians. This is not to be compared to a psychic who predicts through a python spirit of foretelling the future. There are high degree prophets who can foretell the future concerning the Christian ministry of another person, particular Christian group or church. The prophetic message can encourage a believer concerning the future. Prophesy is given according to the faith of the Prophet. The Lord gives the type of prophesy according to his will only.
